DAY 1
The Autumn version of Neil O Briens, now popular Tour took place over last weekend. A group of 8 cyclists left the Phoenix Park on Friday morning at 8.30am with the support of Eoin Ryan. Due to work commitments and the threat of downpours the two promised groups didn't materialise. So one group it was....

There are swimming sessions on Tue evenings in DCU from 8-9pm. We are entering our 3rd season with DCU. There are 3 lanes for all abilities. Ann-Marie Fenton is the coach (former youth international and 800m freestyle underage record holder).

Running on Saturday (9:30am at the Polo Grounds)
Cycling on Sunday (9:30am at the Polo Grounds)

Running sessions with Jim Davis will commence on the 11th October.
The sessions will kick off at 9.30, meeting in the Polo Grounds.
The cost will be 30 euro per member for the 10 week block.

Race report (did I really type that) Portumna 27th September. Taking my
inspiration from Ditch and sneaking off to do my first triathlon
without telling anyone I found myself in a queue on the quayside
waiting my turn to enter the water… the cold,dark and deep water, to do
the 150m swim that would decide if I would be allowed to start.

Having completed my first Half Ironman
on Sat in Groomsport Co Down I now know what it takes to achieve and
compete at this distance. I can now look back on the events of this
year and admire the great achievements at home and abroad of some of
our club members, especially over the Half and Full Ironman distances
– they are great triathletes.
